Heading up Denhall Lane, I’m proud I didn’t fall behind. Dave is on a fixie & Keith is coming back after an operation, but still I’m happy!
views from my cycle commute
I moved to Manchester about 8 weeks ago, but it already feels like home. My morning commute from the city centre to Salford Quays is only about 3 miles, but takes me about 30 minutes on the bike as I stop to take in the surroundings. Tonight I let the rowers go by, just to savour the moment.
Welcome to Canada, eh?
Thanks to tarckstar’s recommendation I’ve been watching Behind the Barriers on Vimeo. It’s a behind the scenes look at cyclocross, following Jeremy Powers and team for the season. The first few episodes (of season one) are a bit slow, but give it time, it’s a great glimpse into the world of cyclocross. It’s also really funny and good to see what these guys get up to on the road.
A wonderfully inspiring film for women cyclists from Rapha.
Richmond Park is my favourite place in London to cycle. It’s the largest royal park in the city at 2500 acres, although technically it’s in the county of Surrey.
It’s a beautiful spot to get away from the city. There are free roaming deer, great hills to climb and trails through woodlands. The park has spectacular views of the city to the east, and the meandering Thames to the west.
Chrissie Wellington has a home near the park and uses it to train, along with other athletes. It truly is an inspiring place to ride.
